Visit the Zandvoorts Museum together during Museum Week 2025
From October 11 to 19, the whole of the Netherlands will be focused on Museum Week. The Zandvoorts Museum is participating and opening the doors of our brand new building with a rich and festive program. This is the perfect time to experience art and culture together in Zandvoort!
Four new exhibitions
Discover our brand new presentations, in which the history and creativity of Zandvoort come to life. Each exhibition offers its own angle and surprising perspective – there is something special for everyone to discover.
Zandvoort Art – five artists in one exhibition
In the museum you will also encounter Zandvoort Art, a group exhibition of five contemporary artists who are showing their work especially for this occasion. Together with their paintings, they provide a surprising view of art today.
For the whole family
Museum Week is also for families! That is why we offer two free routes:
- Family route (7+) – a quest full of questions, assignments and discovery fun.
- Reading route (4+) – together with Eendje Kwak, the stories about the history of Zandvoort come to life for the little ones.

Would you like to hear more about the stories behind the artworks? Then join our free walk-in tour, every Sunday at 2:00 PM. An experienced guide will take you through the exhibitions and give you that little bit of extra insight.
Special: Open Studio – free Wednesday afternoon
Unique during Museum Week: our Open Studio! On Wednesday afternoons you can walk in for free to get started with paint, pencil or other material. Be inspired by what you have just seen in the halls and discover how much fun it is to be creative together.
Sunday, October 19 – lecture Humor in art
We will close Museum Week festively with an inspiring lecture on Sunday, October 19 by museum teacher Margreet Koeman. Humor in art – from the 16th century to the present. This lecture shows how many different forms of humor exist in art and what functions they fulfill. Using a variety of examples – from the 16th century to the present – it becomes clear how artists use humor to amuse, stimulate or encourage viewers to think.
