On January 30, the book presentation of ‘En Zandvoort heilig strand is van mijn togt het doel’ took place at the Zandvoorts Museum.
Book presentation

In a fully booked Museum Café, Mayor David Moolenburgh officially opened the presentation of the definitive book on the history of our seaside resort’s origins. Commissioned by the Municipality of Zandvoort, researcher Koen Marijt delved deep into the archives. The result? A magnificent standard work that reveals the soul of Zandvoort. As a crowning achievement of his work, Koen Marijt received the honorary pin of the Municipality of Zandvoort from Alderman Gert-Jan Bluijs. A well-deserved recognition for research that forms the foundation for the 200th anniversary. He was also presented with the first copy of his book.
Book
The book En Zandvoorts heilig strand is van mijn ’togt het doel’ is the result of extensive historical research by Koen Marijt into the origins of the Zandvoort seaside resort. Across 162 pages, this publication shows in detail for the first time how Zandvoort was able to transform from a poor fishing village into a sophisticated seaside resort. The book is richly illustrated with original documents, old maps, and paintings.
