Youth Debate 2026
On Sunday, March 8, 2026, Zandvoort Kiest is organizing the Zandvoort Youth Debate 2026 at the Zandvoorts Museum. With this debate, the organization aims to give young people a voice and engage them in dialogue with local politicians on topics that directly impact their future. The debate focuses on a substantive and accessible exchange between youth and politics. All eight political parties from Zandvoort will participate. Each party will be represented by the youngest candidate on their list, or a candidate who can best represent youth-related themes.

The program begins at 2:00 PM with a reception. The opening of the debate follows at 2:30 PM. The debate will conclude around 4:00 PM, followed by informal drinks. Political parties participate in the debate with their youngest candidate or the candidate who can best represent the theme of youth. The debate will be presented by Romy Koning, a teacher at De Zeevonk primary school, and journalist Jelmer Koper. The organization is managed by Zandvoort Inside for the Zandvoort Kiest platform. This is a platform of collaborating local media in the run-up to the municipal elections. The participating media outlets provide individual or collaborative productions to inform voters as effectively as possible.
March for Women’s Safety in Zandvoort
On International Women’s Day, residents and local political parties in Zandvoort will take to the streets together for women’s safety. With this march, the initiators (PVDA/GroenLinks Zandvoort) seek to bring visible attention to the fact that many women do not feel safe on the streets, at home, or while going out, and face violence or intimidation. This is not only a global issue but a local one as well. To feel safe, women in Zandvoort, for example, adapt their daily routes.
We want to show that this subject matters and that we, as a community, are addressing this together
The march starts after the Youth Debate at the Zandvoorts Museum, where participants will gather at 4:15 PM. Everyone is welcome to join the march or support the call. Women’s insecurity affects everyone, not just women.
During the march, practical improvements will also be considered, such as better street lighting and safer routes. In this way, the initiators link the call for attention directly to concrete steps. The initiators emphasize that the march is about a collective signal that safety, freedom, and respect for women in Zandvoort are important.
