Book Week theme ‘My Generation’

Book Week 2026 (March 11–22) is centered around the theme ‘My Generation’. During this annual celebration of the book, the focus is on how stories and language shape and connect generations. From boomers to zoomers: every generation views the world differently and leaves behind its own story. Help write Zandvoort’s history.

Generations by the sea

In a coastal town like Zandvoort, this is clearly visible. The village has been shaped by the stories of people who lived, worked, and vacationed here. But history does not stop with the past. It is precisely the stories of this generation that determine how Zandvoort is experienced today and how it will be remembered in the future. Today, Zandvoort lives on through the stories of the current generation: residents, entrepreneurs, beach lovers, and visitors who experience the village in their own way.

My generation: stories of today

The theme of Book Week invites us to reflect on what our generation leaves behind. Which memories belong to this era? Which places, events, or people tell us something about the Zandvoort of today? Today’s stories are also part of that history. That is why the museum invites everyone to share a story.
