Fokelien Renckens-Stenneberg bids farewell to the Zandvoort Museum: “Together, we’ve written a new chapter”
As of September 1, Fokelien Renckens-Stenneberg (78) will step down as interim director of the Zandvoorts Museum. After a year and a half, she is handing over a museum that is ready for the next step: revitalized, professional, and firmly rooted in the stories of Zandvoort.
Under her leadership, the museum moved to its current location and was given a contemporary design and a revamped collection presentation. Art, heritage, and the personal stories of Zandvoort residents form the common thread throughout. Much was also accomplished behind the scenes: the organization became more professional, collection management was strengthened, and new partnerships gave the museum a broader social and cultural role. The result is a museum that brings together visitors, residents, artists, and volunteers.

Fokelien Renckens-Stenneberg looks back fondly on her time as interim director:

After the summer, the museum will present a new program of exhibitions and activities that invite visitors to rediscover the history and culture of Zandvoort time and again.
On July 30, the new director of the Zandvoorts Museum will be announced.
