The lecture by Folkert Bloeme The Reconstruction of Zandvoort was well attended. Tickets for the lecture were sold out within 3 days. The lecture is about the reconstruction of Zandvoort after the Second World War and the period 1943 to 1965. Bloeme talks about the plan that Van Alphen, the then mayor of Zandvoort, had in 1943. He appointed the architect Friedhoff to redesign Zandvoort. Using maps, visualizations and inspiration sketches, Bloeme shows the division of the design. The plan divided Zandvoort into a tourist area and an area for the residents. The first plan was only partially implemented. It served as inspiration. After Friedhoff, other architects took over, with varying degrees of success.
