TAILOR-MADE PROGRAM

Experience, discover, and remember at the Zandvoorts Museum
Bring your class to the Zandvoorts Museum and turn art and heritage into a personal experience. We align with the theme you are working on at school and translate this into a creative and meaningful museum program. Through stories, assignments, and room for personal memories, students discover not only the collection, but also themselves and each other.

Tailor-made educational programs – Zandvoorts Museum
The Zandvoorts Museum offers tailor-made programs for both lower and upper grades of primary education. We align with the theme the class is currently working on and, together with the teacher, translate this into a suitable museum program.

Program structure

  1. Preparatory lesson at school
In preparation for the visit, there is a short introductory lesson in the classroom. Here, students become acquainted with the theme and start thinking about their own experiences and memories.
  2. Introduction in the museum
In the museum, students are welcomed with a story in the gallery and view the still lifes that tell the story of Zandvoort from Fishing Village to Seaside Resort. This story forms the bridge between their own experience and the museum’s collection.
  3. Group assignment in the museum
The students split into small groups with an assignment in the form of stories or paintings and drawings that relate to the chosen theme. They investigate, discover, and collaborate around artworks and objects in the museum.
  4. Circle discussion and sharing of stories
The program concludes with a joint circle discussion or an exhibition of the ‘objects’ created. The students share their discoveries and stories. Here, the emotional component is given space: memories, feelings, and personal associations make the museum visit meaningful and memorable.

Why this program?
The Zandvoorts Museum wants to not only let children look, but also let them feel and remember. By connecting their own stories to the collection, a unique experience is created that students will remember.

Heritage Education Program for primary schools

In coherent lessons, museum visits, and walks, they become acquainted with stories about tourism, associations, the Second World War, and Formula 1. In a playful way, they learn to make connections between the past, present, and future. This fosters historical awareness and creates pride in their own living environment. The heritage of Zandvoort is thus passed on to a new generation.

SPECIAL! Educational program Strong Together – 200 years of Club Love in Zandvoort

Especially for the Zandvoort primary schools (group 7 & 8)

Zandvoort is more than just sea and beach – the village has a centuries-old tradition of solidarity and association life. Sports clubs, music associations, theater groups, and the lifeguard: for generations, they have formed the heart of social life.

On the occasion of the exhibition “200 years of Club Love – the rich association life of Zandvoort”, the Zandvoorts Museum offers a special school program for groups 7 and 8. During this interactive museum lesson, students discover how associations used to work, what role they played in the village, and how that tradition continues today.

In a varied program with a scavenger hunt, role-playing, and creative assignments, students go on their own research. They get acquainted with historical photos by photographer Bakels, special objects from the collection, and stories of Zandvoort residents who are committed to their club. In this way, students experience how important cooperation, fun, and connection have always been.

This educational program is offered free of charge to all Zandvoort primary schools.
A unique opportunity to discover the past and present of Zandvoort associations with the class!

Our intention: an inclusive museum for everyone

The Zandvoorts Museum intends to be an inclusive museum: a place where everyone feels welcome and recognized, regardless of background, age, language, disability, or way of thinking.
We want to be an open house for all Zandvoort residents and visitors, where diversity is seen as a strength and stories are shared from multiple perspectives.

Everyone belongs. Everyone counts. Everyone is welcome.
