Formula 1 art takes center stage at the Zandvoorts Museum
Formula 1 is alive in Zandvoort – and that is now reflected in our museum. We have added a special new object to our collection: a scale model of a Formula 1 car, designed and donated by artist and interior architect Hans Peters from Bennebroek.
In the news

On February 26, Hans Peters presented his scale model to Director Fokelien Renckens-Stenneberg. The press was present for this special moment. Read the article in the Zandvoortse Courant here. NH Nieuws also produced a wonderful video report on the event. Watch the video on NH Nieuws.
Permanent Collection
Hans Peters and our collection manager Hans Konijn placed the scale model in the Formula 1 section of the permanent exhibition The Life of Memories, which showcases Zandvoort’s motorsport DNA.
More than a scale model

This is not just any miniature. The scale model symbolizes a larger vision: a four-meter-long steel Formula 1 car at the entrance to the circuit on the Noordboulevard. A work of art that serves as both an eye-catcher and an ode to our village’s motorsport history.
With this initiative, Peters aims to demonstrate how deeply Formula 1 is rooted in Zandvoort. This message aligns perfectly with our mission: making the past visible and keeping the conversation about the future alive.
Motorsport as identity
The discussion regarding the future of the circuit demonstrates how important this location is to our community. For our museum, motorsport is not a hype, but heritage. The scale model underscores that enduring connection with international racing.
What is the next step?
The realization of the large-scale artwork still requires cooperation and support, including from the municipality and Mayor David Moolenburgh. We are following these developments closely.
