Zandvoort, October 7, 2025 – From October 11 to 19, the entire Netherlands will be celebrating Museum Week. The Zandvoorts Museum is taking part and opening the doors of our brand-new building with a rich and festive program. This is the perfect moment to experience art and culture in Zandvoort together!
Exhibitions
Discover our brand-new presentations, where the history and creativity of Zandvoort come to life. Each exhibition offers its own angle and a surprising perspective – there is something special for everyone to discover.
Zandvoort Art
At the museum, you will also encounter Zandvoort Art, a group exhibition of five contemporary artists showcasing their work specifically for this occasion. Together with their paintings, they provide a surprising look at today’s art. The exhibition can be seen until November 23, 2025.
Children
Museum Week is for families too! That is why we offer two free routes:
Family Route (7+) – a scavenger hunt full of questions, assignments, and discovery fun.
Storytelling Route (4+) – together with Eendje Kwak, stories about the history of Zandvoort come to life for the little ones. On Wednesday afternoon, October 15, at 2:00 PM, you can drop in for free to get creative with paint, pencils, or other materials. Be inspired by what you have just seen in the galleries and discover how much fun it is to be creative together.
Lecture
We will conclude Museum Week festively with an inspiring lecture on Sunday, October 19, by museum educator Margreet Koeman. Humor in Art – from the 16th century to the present. This lecture demonstrates the many different forms of humor that exist in art and the functions they serve. Using diverse examples – from the 16th century to today – it becomes clear how artists use humor to amuse, provoke, or encourage viewers to reflect.
